With City officials and city advertisements now blatantly trying to speak of all the glories of borrowing $8 million to purchase PSL/JEB/New City Hall assessed at $4 million, they’re saying: “Taxpayers, do not sign your name to the Counter Petition, / Alternative Approval Process!

The City is constantly handing out MIS-INFORMATION regarding the options with that building while accusing others of doing the same! A group of very concerned citizens has STUDIED this whole deal since 1999 and have the all the facts, including legal decisions.

Presently the City is spreading their “political” word at service clubs WRONG!

Questions: What if one or more mills or high paying taxpayers move out of town or simply shut down?

Answer: Quesnel CANNOT afford PSL purchase or leasing!

Fact: People are moving away to find, work and businesses are closing at an alarming rate, at least 5 7 closures announced in March!

I wonder if any one of them, Council or Staff, has ever heard of a city declaring bankruptcy? We do not need to make history by being the first Canadian city to claim bankruptcy!

The Municipal Finance Authority would not help us out of a desperate situation like that, I’m sure. They’re the BC community’s bank but expect to be re-paid like any other legally correct financial institution.

Sign “NO” and demand our democratic rights back.
